Turkey introduced significant regulations regarding Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in 2017 by enacting the KKDIK regulation, aligning with the EU’s REACH standards. Although the old SDS regulation for hazardous substances has been repealed, the current SDSs will remain valid until they are updated in accordance with Article 28 of KKDIK. Starting from 31.12.2023, all SDSs must be prepared in compliance with Annex-2 of KKDIK and drafted by Chemical Assessment Experts listed in Annex-18. Additionally, the SDSs must be uploaded to the Integrated Environmental Information System (IEIS).
